Dryness and heat are two of the most dangerous conditions for guitars. Most guitars are built in humidity-controlled factories, with a relative humidity of approximately 45%. If you store your guitar in a room with humidity less than 35%, the woods of your guitar will shrink. The shrinkage leads to deformity of the neck and top woods, and may even cause cracking. Heat destroys guitars by softening the glues used to hold the pieces of  the guitar together. ALWAYS THINK ABOUT THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY IN ROOMS WHERE YOUR GUITAR WILL BE LINGERING.
